Establishments for the preparation of animal by-products are authorised by the ONSSA for health reasons. In order to export these by-products to EU countries, processing establishments for these by-products and export conditions must meet the requirements of EU regulations. Similarly, the health authorisation number of the establishment must be placed on the European Commission’s trace system and must be published on the European Commission’s website. Export may take place only after this publication.
Establishments for the preparation of animal by-products (for example: wools, horns) are authorised by ONSSA in accordance with the regulations in force. In order to be authorised from a health point of view, the operator of the said establishment or undertaking, before it is put into operation, must send an application for authorization accompanied by a dossier to the local veterinary service of the ONSSA at the place of establishment of the establishment.
