The Greater Casablanca Regional Directorate of the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) organized,
Tuesday, June 19, 2014i, an awareness day for the benefit of caterers under the theme “Supervision and support for caterers to
improving the quality of food products and services with a view to protecting consumer health”.
This meeting, which was attended by representatives of the Departments of Interior and Health, professionals
and the Consumer Protection Association (Uniconso), aimed to present the main principles of Law 28-07
relating to the safety of food products, to inform about the health requirements in the catering sector and
central kitchens. At the end of this day, which also aimed to highlight the role of ONSSA in
support for operators in the sanitary upgrading of this sector, several recommendations have been made
in particular the gradual upgrading of the catering sector through supervision by ONSSA services. They also carried
on the creation of a professional association of caterers and on the need for coordination and consultation between the different
actors, namely, the administration, professionals and consumer protection associations, adds the same source.
