Mr. Ahmed Bentouhami, Director General of ONSSA and Ms. Penny Kusumastuti Lukito, Director of the Indonesian Health Agency (National Agency Of Drug And Food Control) signed at ONSSA headquarters on Thursday 09 November 2017, a memorandum of understanding relating to cooperation in the field of food safety. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellency Mr. SYARIEF Syamsuri, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Rabat and a large Indonesian delegation.
The conclusion of this Memorandum of Understanding was welcomed by both parties; it thus paves the way for a long-term partnership between the two countries in the field of control and food safety. The meeting was also an opportunity for the Indonesian delegation to inquire about the organization of the Moroccan health control system along the food chain.
At the end of this meeting, the two parties discussed the main areas of cooperation to be put in place, particularly in terms of information exchange on regulatory issues and sanitary and phytosanitary certifications, thus confirming their desire to further strengthen the links between Morocco and Indonesia.
