April 25, 2013 ,on the occasion of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco and in the presence of Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries and his Excellency Mr. Jean Luc Bodson, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in Rabat, a Moroccan-Belgian cooperation agreement in the field of food safety has been signed between ONSSA and AFSCA (Belgian Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain).
AWith the conclusion of this agreement, the two authorities are committed to establishing a long-term partnership in the field of food safety and consumer protection, through an exchange of experience, knowledge and know-how -doing in areas related to animal and plant health, control of animal and plant products, animal feed and agricultural inputs; as well as an exchange of information relating to sanitary and phytosanitary risks linked to trade in products between the two countries.
The two parties also proceeded, on the sidelines of this occasion, to the validation of veterinary health certificates for the export from Belgium to Morocco of cattle, organic fertilizers and animal feed.
