The technical assistance project “Improving food safety in Morocco” which is part of the implementation of the RSA I program (Succeeding advanced status) started on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Rabat, during a meeting chaired by Mr. Abdellah Janati, Director General of ONSSA in the presence of project experts, representatives of the EU delegation and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (Cellule d’Accompagnement du Programme « RSA »)
With funding from the European Union (EU) of 1,500,000 euros and lasting 30 months, this project aims to strengthen the organization and resources of ONSSA to best carry out its control mission. of food safety. The main expected results of this project are:
- The development of a strategy for controlling the safety of primary plant products and animal products;
- Strategic support and capacity building of laboratories as well as the establishment of reference laboratories;
- Support for information systems in order to secure procedures and exchanges with ONSSA partners as well as to instruct an exchange interface with TRACES;
- Updating and implementing ONSSA’s communication strategy.
