The National Office of Food Safety (ONSSA) participated in the 15th edition of the International Agricultural Fair in Morocco (SIAM), which took place in Meknes from 02 to 07 May 2023. This edition, under the theme “Generation Green: for a sustainable food sovereignty” was inaugurated by Mr. Aziz Akhanouch, Head of Government.
ONSSA took part in this international event by its presence in the institutional pavilion of the Department of Agriculture, in different poles: the animal and vegetable sectors, the valorization, the agricultural markets and the sanitary control and quality. The permanent presence of ONSSA agents allowed a very active interaction with the visitors (citizens, operators, farmers,…).
This event was also an opportunity for the Office to meet national and international partners and thus strengthen its bilateral cooperation.
Among these meetings, the visit of Prof. Dr. Tanja Schwerdtle, the vice-president of the BfR (The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment) , she was received by M. Abdellah Janati, General Director of the Office, for an executive meeting, and then visited the Regional Laboratory of Analyses and Research of ONSSA in Meknes. This visit has been organized in the framework of a cooperation protocol signed between the two institutions in 2021.
