The technical negotiations between ONSSA and the American Phytosanitary Authority (APHIS: Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) resulted in the opening of the U.S. market for the export of Moroccan dates, including the Mejhoul variety.
As a result, a delegation of phytosanitary experts from APHIS visited Morocco from May 6 to 10, 2024. The program included several meetings with central and regional officials, as well as visits to production sites and date packing stations.
