As part of the activities of the Regional Program for Integrated Crop Pest Management in the Near East (GTFS/REM/070/ITA), the National Food Safety Office (ONSSA) in collaboration with the FAO organized Rabat from November 4 to 8, 2013, a national training workshop for school facilitators in farmers’ fields.

This workshop is part of the 2013 action plan of the said program and its main objective is to strengthen the capacities of the facilitators,particularly on aspects related to the monitoring and evaluation of schools.

In accordance with its agenda, this workshop led by FAO experts and in which 22 facilitators from ONSSA and the National Office of Agricultural Council (ONCA) took part addressed in the form of training modules in plenary sessions and in the field according to the participatory approach the following themes:

  • Overview of Field Schools (FFS) in Morocco;
  • Identification of facilitators’ needs for additional or specific exercises;
  • Innovations at FFS School level via experimentation sites;
  • Monitoring and evaluation of FFS schools during and after school closure
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the FFS process and programs;
  • Sustainability and sustainability of FFS programs:

At the end of this workshop, certificates were distributed to the various participants during the closing ceremony by the FAO Representative, the Director General of ONSSA and the Director General of ONCA.
